shoo admin? is it going to be much of a contest or has kasouba already decided?

in my opinion due to the lack if interest, awareness, knowledge and concern amongst many (the large majority) of those in Australia i believe Nabe Younis will decide the nest council administration. I think we can say mabrouk george nader from now.

the lack of interest and awareness, are in the so called (elections key bosses) GMA is just one of a number of bosses . the coalition and work with other bosses are under the umbrella of his master the boss of the bosses who change the political alliances upside down putting everyone in total confusion. Poor Nassif, he does not know that success is not the result of “good” personal qualities alone and he does not understand the principles of how to stand on a stable rug. Anyway, whatever is being engineered , again enslave our mind, body, soul and pockets, friends we don’t have real politicians among us and backward we go.

"Poor Nassif"? what the h377 is that? why do you feel sorry for a man who praised and continue to praise his boss more than al Mutanabbi praised Sayf Eddowlat eyem zaman, and associates with terrorists far and near?

He knows what he's doing and deserves every deed he gets.

lets try and stick to the council elections in this thread folks. i dont think the boss of bosses or HA for that matter will be issue any fatwas from Dahieh regarding elections escpecially in small towns like ours. there will be no divine intervention and no divine victory. HA will pretty much tell its base its your town you decide on whats best, or stick the devil you know than that you dont. besides i dont think the "other list" has room for 4 HA members to sit on the committee, Dr George Nader will guarantee them that.

despite the little hope i had in the other list they lack seriousness and its likelly that some will be bought at midnight and withdraw on the morning of the 2nd of May.

Still i beleive there is only one person capable of toppling George Nader and leading us to a new era but neither he or his sons are willing to take the chance. such a shame.

my money is on george nader, rather than criticise, be despaired and lose hope one must...

Haroun wlak shoo khas nassif and his boss? HA will back and support george nader in the elections. Does that make george nader a terrorist and ally of terrorists? have you ever wished george nader ill for working closely with nabe younis???

lets step away and get out of the habitt of labelling our fellow villagers terrorists especially when they are our own town people and clearly they consitute the majority of the residing jieh population.

yalal mabrouk George Nader.

Whose contesting moukhtar?

Jumblat for Christian Municipal Chiefs in Mixed Shouf Villages

Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat is reportedly keen on handing over the head of municipal council seats to Christians in Druze-Christian towns in the Shouf.

Pan-Arab daily al-Hayat said Monday the PSP leader has given the green light to choose Christian heads of municipality which are currently occupied by Druze.

The newspaper said that Jumblat prefers to give the municipality presidency in Mazraat al-Shouf to Amal Abdel Sater, in Maaser al-Shouf to a consensual Christian and in Barouk to Elie Nakhle. The same also goes to the mixed town of Ain Zhalta.

PSP sources told al-Hayat that Jumblat insists on brining Christian municipal heads in these towns as part of his willingness to consolidate reconciliation and encourage Christians to return to their towns and villages.

The sources stressed that Jumblat's decision doesn't mean he is biased in favor of Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun. They added that the Druze leader will not interfere in the issues of Christian families although in mixed villages he would press for consensus over the municipal councils which should have representatives from all active political parties.

The PSP sources also told al-Hayat that Jumblat won't interfere in the formation of the list in Damour, one of the biggest Christian towns. He backs consensus on the basis of renewing the post of current municipal chief Charles Ghafari despite a tendency by some families to enter into an electoral battle against him.

In purely Druze towns, the PSP leader is against electoral battles. That's why he is cooperating with Tawheed Movement leader Wiam Wahab in Jahliyeh. Jumblat also encourages a coalition list in Jiyyeh given that it is Sunni-Shiite-Christian mixed town.

All of this talk would be pointless, if Christians do not in fact have control over their own actions, instead of constantly live at the mercy of blind fate or fortune depending on his mood or the winds….
It is stunning that Junblatt is not able to understand one basic point, that he is not going to secure their devotion to him because of his past and what he did to them, and because they love freedom and life, they are not going to be trapped by traditional forms of politics, which had its origins as bondage or involuntary servitude.
This is my honest advice to Junblatt, give the leadership to Taymour and let him take the credit for these political moves, if Moukhtara want some of Christians loyalty back.

There are no PSP followers in Jieh... not sure why Jumblat has to get in the mix here... probably he can campaign in jieh for the candidate who will pay up but not sure what the results would be.

Anyway... what are the final lists in Jieh, anything tentative, any alliances?

AJ, does this mean Nassif the guy who got 25k votes for Parliament is already counted out?
