In the spirit of the great Che (danny keefek?) I will tell you why Haroun. Other than FPM seeking to establish a "culture of understanding" below are some reasons why we attended.
•The Communist party laid the culture of defending social issues in Lebanon.
•Because for 8 decades the party of struggle has been primarily championing issues and voicing the concerns of the workers and peasants.
•Social Justice is the cornerstone of both FPM and the CLP.
•Both parties made great sacrifices in the struggle for democracy and national sovereignty.
•Both parties want Lebanon to remain an independent political entity. We both say no to foreign interference. No Welsh, no Rice, no sugar, no bush, no sarkozy, no assad, no olmert, no ahmadinijad.
•We want a secular Lebanon, a just Lebanon, a democratic Lebanon, a Lebanon that respects and values human life, rights and dignity.
•Both parties voice the concerns of the oppressed people around the globe.
•Both parties seek and are working on addressing the socio-economic crisis, the most serious debt crisis in Lebanon’s history which could lead to a recession.
•It’s a joint orientation between two parties seeking to address the imbalance in the Lebanese political system. A fair electoral law and provision of the Constitution.
•We both want to maintain a civil peace, which we believe is in the best interest of this nation and its people.
•As Dr Nassif concluded in his great speech we both want a true peace, a lasting peace and most importantly a just peace.
Haroun my friend read the communist manifesto; it’s not illegal anymore in the US. Jeez Haroun take it easy man, I hope you don’t see this gathering as a stepping stone to a red conquest…
